The Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárquez is located behind the Town Hall of Los Alcázares, away from the main road which runs through the town north to south, and is a wide open space with various discreet items of adornment such as modern statues and monuments (and, every year, a large Christmas tree).
It is frequently used for all kinds of social and cultural events, including festivals, concerts, gastronomy and anything else which congregates large numbers of people in the town centre.

The square is named after the man who led Los Alcázares to municipal independence from San Javier and Torre Pacheco in 1983, championing the cause in the regional government of Murcia, and it is well known that he was motivated to fight against injustice by the execution of his father during the Spanish Civil War in 1939 – click here for further details.
