Video! British TikToker walks from Manchester to Ibiza in flip-flops for children’s cancer charity
Henry Oscar Moores is raising thousands as he documents his journey step by step on social media
A 21-year-old from the UK has taken on a unique challenge that is catching attention across Europe. Henry Oscar Moores is walking from Manchester to Ibiza wearing nothing but flip-flops - all in the name of charity.
His goal? To raise £50,000 for the Bemorefab Children’s Cancer Charity, which supports young cancer patients and their families. So far, Moores has already passed the halfway mark, bringing in over £26,000, with donations continuing to climb.
Moores began the journey 45 days ago, and has been sharing daily updates through his TikTok and Instagram accounts, @henryoscarmoores. His videos show not only the physical toll of the journey, but also the kindness and encouragement he has received from strangers along the way.
“I just wanted to do something that would get people talking and raise money for a cause I really care about,” he said. “The flip-flops have definitely helped with that.”
This isn’t his first time taking on a major challenge. In 2024, Moores completed a charity run in aid of the Tony Hudgell Foundation. But this new adventure has gone viral thanks to the eye-catching footwear and his honest, often funny, daily updates.
Residents in Ibiza are already aware of his mission, and many are planning to greet him when he arrives. Though the journey has been tough, it is clear Moores’s determination is inspiring many — and the support continues to grow.
His challenge is also part of a wider trend of young people using TikTok to promote social causes. Campaigns like #GivingSzn and TikTok Change Makers are showing how the platform is being used for more than entertainment.
As Moores nears the end of his journey, he is proving just how powerful one person and a simple idea can be. In his own words, “If it helps even one child, it will all have been worth it.”
His challenge also highlights how TikTok and other social media platforms have become much more than just entertainment apps. Increasingly, they are being used to share meaningful stories and raise funds for social causes. These challenges demonstrate how social media can also be used as a social tool to foster solidarity, inclusion, and civic awareness, mobilising users everywhere.
